The Boardroom Review and Dissent

A boardroom review gives tables to click over here evaluate their performance in a comprehensive way. It assists tables in identifying aspects of longevity, as and weaknesses in their connections, leadership relationships and the culture that could lead to both practical and social changes. It also ensures that those who pay for membership at the table are well-equipped to carry out their duties.

This research area is still in the process of development however there are a number challenges. First, the evidence currently available provides mixed findings on how dissent shapes boards and their function. Some studies have positive (Zona 2016) curvilinear, not significant, or mixed results. Other studies report negative (Brown Buchholtz And Butts 2019, Heemskerk Heemskerk and Wats, Minichilli, et al. There are 2012) relationships between dissent and task performance of a board.

The literature is not able to provide a deeper understanding of what factors influence the dynamics of dissension. Future research should provide an integrated theoretical framework to understand this phenomenon of governance. This might include the use of configurational approaches (Federo and Saz Carranza 2018; Schiell Lewellyn, and Yan 2023) to assist researchers to better understand how board attributes process, processes, and contexts relate to the required and sufficient causality in governance issues.

Some studies use a narrow definition of dissent but do not provide precise measurement methods. These studies are therefore prone to measurement error. It would be worthwhile to develop more reliable methods to measure dissent for future studies.
